Chai Restaurant Hosts HUGGS Canada Fundraiser!
Friends of HUGGS and friends of Chai shared a delightful evening of tasty Indian food, good conversation, and world music amid the Eastern elegance of draped carpets and oversized cushions.
More than 100 people came out for the evening, which made this a very successful fundraiser. The cost of the meal, which began with a cup of signature chai, included a ten dollar donation to HUGGS. At the display table there were photographs of HUGGS students, brochures, and note cards for sale which were designed by some of the HUGGS students.
The evening concluded with door prizes, and a highlight report by HUGGS Chair, Helen Kline. Many people stayed late to enjoy the lively music and dance that Chai evenings are famous for. Quite an experience, and one that will hopefully become a tradition.
