Among the 142 student nurses at the traditional
candlelight capping ceremony was Viveka, HUGGS
first student. With her hair gracefully groomed
off her shoulders, and dressed in a plain
white uniform with white shoes and stockings,
Viveka faced the audience as she received
her cap. Was this confident student nurse
the same little village girl who first came
to Lisa with her hesitant dream of becoming
a nurse? My heart was full as I realized that
it was this girl’s dream that gave the vision
for HUGGS. What a delightful surprise when
HUGGS was thanked for sponsoring a student,
and Lisa, dressed in a soft green sari, accepted
an award and a gorgeous bouquet and on behalf
of HUGGS CANADA. |
