On November 27, 2007 David Heel threw a launch party
for his new CD, DH Utopia, at the restaurant Azia
in downtown Vancouver. DH Utopia is a CD of music
composed by David, and partly inspired by his trip
to India and the subsequent founding of HUGGS Canada.
The evening featured a HUGGS video produced by David
and HUGGS board member Maricela Panigua. It is an
inspiring introduction to our HUGGS students, shown
against the musical background of "South Indian
Passage" --a song which David has dedicated to
his sister Lisa and HUGGS.
"Vibrant" is the word that best captures
the evening: a lively crowd, great music, the
lovely decor and delicious food provided by Azia,
the buzz of CD sales, a silent auction, great
door prizes, a 50/50 draw...and the hum of conversation
and laughter. A great success and a great introduction
to HUGGS! HUGGS was the grateful recipient of
over $4000. Thank you, David, HUGGS volunteers,
and all who attended --you made this DH Utopia
launch a winner!
